Joe Cron

Critically Acclaimed Author

It’s true! My writing has received critical acclaim. I’m not just making that up. Of my short story, “A Rare Bird,” appearing in the anthology Obsessions from Stark Publishing, Victoria Silverwolf said at Tangent Online, “The author skillfully manages the difficult task of writing an animal fantasy that is neither anthropocentric nor whimsical.” And Kristine Kathryn Rusch, editor of the popular WMG Publishing Fiction River anthology volume Fantastic Detectives, said of my story, “Case Cracked,” “I think it’s one of the best stories I’ve read. It’s certainly one of the most memorable.” But gosh, don’t take their word for it. Click around my site here, or just search the web for me at all the usual suspects for media distribution. Enjoy! And thanks!

Background

Joe Cron has been hamming it up in every conceivable way, since early childhood. Acting, music, and writing of various types, throughout school years, transitioning quickly into a professional career. Musically, his first instrument was his father’s cornet, but quickly trumpet, then piano lessons, then a drum set, and Joe was off and running. He has played countless hours of live music in jazz and rock venues, and in many thearical pit orchestras, both in bands and as solo keyboard work. In the theatre, Joe is a professional actor and member of Actors’ Equity. He was a teenager for his first paid performance, in dinner theatre, and he has appeared both on stage and in a wide variety of backstage capacities, in many dozens of productions. As a writer, his eighth-grade school newspaper carried his serial horror story, The Growth of Doom, and he moved on from there. For most of his life, the writing was primarily in either dramatic or nonfiction applications, but he finally got that novel finished and published in 2010, creating his own publishing company, Lardin Press. Since then, two more novels and numerous short stories from both Lardin Press and a host of other publishers. It has been an amazing artistic journey, one Joe loves traveling every day!
